Interior Design
by Ashley Reeb
In 2024, my husband and I moved to the Benton Park neighborhood in St. Louis. We purchased a large building built in 1892 that previously housed a business on the first floor and an apartment on the second floor. Our original idea was to rent out the lower level of the building but ultimately some big life changes shifted those plans. We ended up renovating the home and converting it into a large, single-family home. After months of hard work, I can say I’m quite proud of the work we’ve done. We were fortunately able to do most all the labor ourselves, which included building a kitchen on the main level, laying flooring on the entire second floor, painting, replacing light fixtures and so many other random jobs. The best part of this project was of course the design and mural work. Over the summer, we completely ripped apart the backyard and moved over 10 tons of rock, gravel, and mulch to create the perfect outdoor relaxion spot with the beautiful view and music of Venice Cafe.
Now that this property is complete, I’ve taken on my next project doing interior design for three Airbnb’s in Grafton, Illinois for a client. I’m also providing design consultation for a kitchen and living remodel for the same client. I’ll put up some photos once these projects are complete. I’ve realized that I really love designing and building spaces, so I’m open to taking on new clients. Please reach out if you need any design suggestions or a complete overhaul of your space. I’d love to work with you!
You are welcome to check out some photos of my house below. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
